We are looking for an experienced, ambitious, and creative Pastry Chef who would like to make their own mark in the history of Panzer’s. The role comes with a level of autonomy in which you will develop and drive forward our in-store bakery offer.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for using the best, most seasonal ingredients and would like to bring a part of their personality to wonderful cakes, tarts, biscuits, and all things sweet.
Panzer’s is a premium delicatessen and food emporium and has been located in St. John’s Wood for over 75 years. The Pastry Chef is responsible for creating a whole range of seasonal products served from our Coffee Bar and Deli Counter.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipe with seasonality at the forefront.
- Bring with you and create new and exciting desserts to constantly keep our menus interesting and engaging for our customers and staff.
- Work openly with the directors and management in the creation of new dishes and menus.
- Focus on delivering the very best product time and time again.
- Actively communicate with fellow team members.
- Be happy to work at pace and efficiently multi-task when needed.
- Effectively manage stock-control and departmental budget.
- Keep stations stocked, well-organised and tidy at all times.
- Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and standards.
- Adhere to our company standards and follow Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, or in a relevant role.
- Great attention to detail and creativity.
- Understanding and knowledge of ingredients and seasonality.
- Willingness to share your professional knowledge and experience with your colleagues.
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (dietary requirements).
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- An ability to stay calm under pressure.
45 hours, 5 days per week
